Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located at Muhua Village, Changshun, Guizhou. It was named by Xiong Jianfei in 1983.


Lithology and Thickness

Clayey Limestone. Black and gray-black moderately thick-bedded and thin-bedded clayey limestone, with clayey matter between the layers. With laminated structure well developed, and grain size grading, it is formed by deposits formed by low-density flows, thickness 13.64 m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Conformable contact with the underlying Wangyou Fm.

Upper contact

Conformable contact with the overlying Dawuba Fm

Regional extent

Widely distributed in the Pu’an-Mawei subarea, and best exposed along Wangyou of Huishui to Muhua of Changshun.

Fossils

The lower part of the formation roughly corresponds to the upper part of the conodont Siphonodella crinulata zone.
